Dr. Deering is a licensed & board-certified nurse practitioner, educator, and consultant. Sandra graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Sandra has over 25 years of experience in family practice, behavioral health, critical care, and research.
Sandra’s clinical interests primarily include behavioral health, critical care, and co-morbid conditions across the lifespan. She has a particular interest in the treatment of adolescent behavioral health conditions and dementia related cognitive decline. Sandra has extensive clinical experience within inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings and collaborating with various specialties.
Sandra’s educational interests include being an assistant professor within a nurse practitioner program. Sandra also has an extensive research experience including as a sub-investigator and co-author for a double-blinded, randomized, sham-controlled, proof of concept phase 2 study exploring the safety and efficacy of micro-current stimulation technology for the treatment of patients with fibromyalgia.
